Photo Editing and Challenge 2

For this challenge, I decided to walk around the small town in which I live for most of the images. A few are snapshots from my small corner of town.

For photo editing, I used PhotoScape X – Free Photo Editor for Mac and Windows 10, a versatile and easy tool to use that has a wide array of adjustments, and other filters such as Film and Old Photos that can give it an artistic twist.

PERSPECTIVES: Having different perspectives really can make a difference in how one views the world, and in photography as well. This same statue near our local Farmer’s Market was photographed at multiple angles, and below are the 3 I selected as my favorites. The one with the most interesting would probably be Perspective 2 if I had to choose, but I also like Perspective 1 as well. They are very different angles and backgrounds.

EXTREME ANGLES: In my little corner of town, there is a colony of Mediterranean geckos, literally living in my yard. I had no idea they were even around this part of eastern NC, but since I have discovered them, I have learned a lot about them. They are nocturnal, and one of our nightly rituals is to go out and see how many we can find with a flashlight. This little inch and a half fella, who we have named “Munchkin,” was hanging out on the driveway. When we chased him around a little, he decided to take a reprieve under the car, and that is where this photo was taken.

MACRO: I have a small patio with beautiful roses. This image was taken early in the morning with dew still on the roses.

GOLDEN HOUR: This image was taken late evening downtown at Queen Street Methodist Church and is of the bell tower that we can hear ringing in the afternoons. It is one of the more famous landmarks in Downtown Kinston.

PRODUCT PHOTO: I decided to take a photo for this group of 3 small artificial greenery planters. I chose a neat and clean background with bright illumination to spotlight the planters.
